In 1957, at just 22 years old, Max Diaz Sr. embarked on a courageous journey from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to California through the Bracero Program. Beginning as an agricultural laborer for the Pombo Family in Tracy, CA, Max quickly earned the trust and respect of Alfred Pombo, the family Patriarch, through his unwavering work ethic and reliability. This foundation of trust would shape his lifelong commitment to integrity and excellence.

Max's ambition soon led him into the construction industry, where he honed his craft as a concrete laborer, gaining invaluable experience with renowned companies such as Arthur Construction, Conco, SJ Amoroso, Joseph J. Albanese Construction, Don Rossi Concrete Construction, and Nathan Wills Concrete Company. With a wealth of experience and a reputation for excellence, Max took a leap in 1985 and launched his own concrete construction company, ACCOLADE CONCRETE.

Around this time, Max’s sons were transitioning from their athletic and academic pursuits into the workforce. Jaime Diaz had just concluded a stellar soccer career, including winning the prestigious McGuire Cup National Championship with THE Fremont Celtic in 1980 and playing four years at San Jose State. Meanwhile, Max Jr. had completed his time in the Chicago White Sox minor league organization. Both sons joined their father, starting at the ground level, working on residential projects for tract builders in the San Francisco Bay Area.. Over time, the Diaz family business evolved into a highly respected concrete construction company, known for exceptional skill in design, placement, and finishing. In 1990, Eduardo Diaz formally joined the family business, starting as a laborer and rising through the ranks by excelling in both field operations and office administration. His vision and dedication played a pivotal role in the company's growth. In 1997, Eduardo established his own construction company, Silicon HardscapesINC specializing in the design and construction of high-end, resort-quality outdoor living spaces in prestigious areas such as Silicon Valley, Hillsborough, Piedmont, Danville & THE NAPA VALLEY WINECOUTRY.

Eduardo’s company quickly earned recognition for its sophisticated designs, meticulous craftsmanship, and use of premium materials. The business expanded to include the design and manufacturing of architectural precast limestone elements, architectural ironworks, and the installation of complex concrete hardscapes, masonry, landscaping, and integrated utilities. In 2013, Eduardo further diversified his expertise by adding a General B license to his existing C-8 Concrete license, enabling the company to take on larger residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural projects.
